The Dare County Sanitation Department will be conducting a large household pick-up for residential customers only during April. No commercial business debris will be picked up.
Easter is around the corner, and for Hatteras Island vacationers, there are a number of Sunday morning church services to celebrate the holiday. Best of all, visitors can enjoy a sunrise service in an amazing and truly inspiring location: adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean.

Beginning March 18, North Carolina Department of Transportation ferry customers coming to Hatteras Island via to southern route through the Cedar Island or Swan Quarter ferries to Ocracoke Island will have the convenience of ordering advanced tickets for toll ferries online. Tickets can be purchased online under “Advance Ticket Purchase/Reservations.”
R/C Theatres will reopen its Avon venue on May 1, just in time for summertime visitors. The Avon theater is expected to remain open for four months through Labor Day, seven days a week, with matinee and evening showings.
