The Dare County Sanitation Department will be conducting a large household pick-up for residential customers only during April. No commercial business debris will be picked up.

Beginning March 18, North Carolina Department of Transportation ferry customers coming to Hatteras Island via to southern route through the Cedar Island or Swan Quarter ferries to Ocracoke Island will have the convenience of ordering advanced tickets for toll ferries online. Tickets can be purchased online under “Advance Ticket Purchase/Reservations.”

All Hatteras Island and Dare County property owners are affected by the impending changes to the Beach Plan, and as such, the local and statewide communities have been carefully watching the developments in the fight against the Beach Plan changes.
