Chili Cook-off will be September 19

Grab your spoons and your appetite, and get ready for one of the tastiest contests on Hatteras Island. The annual Chicamacomico Banks Fire / Rescue Chili Cook-off is being held on Saturday, September 19th, all day long at the Cape Hatteras KOA on the Rodanthe Oceanfront.The cooking begins at 10:00 a.m., and contestants have until 2:00 p.m. to turn in their chili for judging. The entry fee is $25, and contestants can sign up until the contest begins. Everyone is welcome to enter their favorite chili recipe, and trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded, as well as the prestigious Showmanship and People’s Choice Awards.

Activities, including a rock climbing wall, and entertainment will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Barryoke Karaoke, a DJ, and live bands providing the music throughout the day.
