Hurricane Dorian Bulletin #7
Dangerous Impacts Through Friday Afternoon; Remain Indoors
Dangerous, life-threatening conditions from Hurricane Dorian will remain throughout the day with strong winds, heavy rains and storm surge from ocean and soundside flooding. As conditions deteriorate this morning, STAY INDOORS, SHELTER IN PLACE. Emergency responders will be unable to respond to calls for assistance when conditions put their safety at risk.
Flood gauges indicate that water levels in the sounds are dropping as the water is pushed away by the wind. When winds shift, the sound water will rapidly return, bringing extreme soundside flooding for some areas. Do not let your guard down. You can access gauges online to view water levels in real-time at fiman.nc.gov or download the ReadyNC App and check the Flood Gauge tab.
