According to a recent article in The Statesman, Hatteras Island has made another best beaches list, as one of the top 5 beaches on the East Coast. Hatteras Island nabbed the number 3 spot.
Author Shelley Emling gave Hatteras Island the distinction for a number of reasons, but the overlying attraction, which allures visitors every year, is the island’s innumerable opportunities for outdoor fun.
“North Carolina’s Cape Hatteras has lots of fans, and a visit to the 72-mile stretch of seashore will show you why,” says Emling. “Up and down Hatteras coastline, visitors will encounter seven villages, each with its own distinct character. They also will encounter incredible bird-watching spots as well as places offering hang gliding, windsurfing, scuba diving, kite surfing, biking and fishing in some of the best angling waters anywhere.”
