If you missed your opportunity to see the 2008 Richard Gere and Diane Lane movie Nights in Rodanthe in the theaters, or simply want to see the beautiful beach background again, then there’s good news coming your way. Nights in Rodanthe will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on February 10th.
Portions of the movie were filmed in Rodanthe in 2006, and residents and frequent visitors alike will recognize a number of local landmarks, including the Rodanthe Pier, and “Serendipity,” the most northern home on Hatteras Island and the setting of the fictional bed and breakfast where the movie takes place.
Additional features on the two disc special edition DVD include interviews with Richard Gere and Diane Lane, alternate scenes, a music video, and a biography of author Nicholas Sparks, who is renowned for setting his novels in coastal North Carolina locales.
Pick up a copy for Valentines’ Day, or simply head to the video store when you need a reminder of sunny summer weather. You just might be inspired to book a Hatteras Island vacation so you can look forward to a few nights in Rodanthe of your own.
