As summer heats up, seasoned visitors will have plenty of new places to try on their next Hatteras Island vacation, as a number of new restaurants have opened recently on the Outer Banks.
In Avon, check out the Atlantic Coast Café, adjacent to the Avon Pier and across from Surf or Sound Realty’s Avon office. With breakfast treats, fresh wraps, sandwiches, burgers, smoothies, and a breezy outdoor dining area, it’s a perfect spot to take a break from the sun and enjoy a refreshing bite to eat.
La Fogatas, the popular Northern Outer Banks Mexican restaurant, is also scheduled to open in the Food Lion Plaza in the summer of 2010. This budget friendly Outer Banks staple has been serving up hot plates of Mexican fare for locals and visitors alike for years, and features everything that Mexican food aficionados love.
In Hatteras, swing by the brand new Outriggers Offshore Bar & Grill – a small but easy to find establishment on the northern side of town. This restaurant features daily specials, fresh local fish, sushi, burgers and more, as well as late night dining and live entertainment.
Feel free to swing by and sample any of these new restaurants on your new vacation. And best of all, whether you’re trying out a new spot, or returning to your family’s favorite restaurant, you’ll find that there is no shortage of great restaurants on Hatteras Island.
