Beginning March 18, North Carolina Department of Transportation ferry customers coming to Hatteras Island via to southern route through the Cedar Island or Swan Quarter ferries to Ocracoke Island will have the convenience of ordering advanced tickets for toll ferries online. Tickets can be purchased online under “Advance Ticket Purchase/Reservations.”
Travelers can still purchase advanced tickets by calling 1-800-By-Ferry as well. Advance ticket sales will require a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) for processing. Refunds and cancellations must be requested before 4 p.m. the day prior to departure.
When making an online reservation, travelers need to make sure they select the correct ticket type: single (for vehicle and/or combination less than 20 feet in length), double (vehicle and/or combination 20-40 feet in length), or triple (vehicle and/or combination 40-65 feet in length). If greater than 40 feet in length (triple), customers must call 1-800-By-Ferry to confirm space availability.
If a customer makes a reservation online, they will have the option of printing the ticket, picking up their ticket at the ferry booth or having it e-mailed to them. More information is available online or by calling the reservations desk at 1-800-By-Ferry.
