Outdoor painting workshop set for May at SeaWorthy Gallery

SeaWorthy Gallery in Hatteras village will sponsor a three-day “Plein Air” outdoor painting workshop on May 19-21 from 9 until 4 p.m. each day. The workshop will focus on marshes, boats, beaches, cottages, and other coastal scenes. All media is welcome, but the demonstrations will be done in watercolor. Class size is limited, so the instructor can give personal attention to each student. A brief critique will conclude each painting day.

The instructor will be Eleanor Cox of Richmond, Va. Her credentials are numerous. She has won many local and regional awards in Virginia, and her work is in many private and corporate collections. Eleanor is a gifted teacher who gladly shares her painting techniques with her students.

The cost is $75 per day, and pre-registration is required. Contact Janet at SeaWorthy Gallery at 252-986-6510 or janet@seaworthygallery.com. A “Meet and Greet” reception will be held at SeaWorthy Gallery on Wednesday, May 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Eleanor’s honor. Light refreshments will be served. The public is welcome.
