MANNS HARBOR — The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division is adding three runs to the Stumpy Point-Rodanthe emergency route beginning Sat., Nov. 3. This brings the total number of runs each day to 10 from each side.
Dare County Emergency Management will open Hatteras Island to visitors starting tomorrow; and more departures are needed to assist with entry.
Those wishing to use the emergency route are reminded to expect long waits and to be patient, as priority status is still in effect.
The Stumpy Point-Rodanthe schedule will be as follows:
• Departing Stumpy Point at 5 a.m., 6:30, 8, 9:30, 11, 12:30 p.m., 2, 3:30, 5 and 9:30; and
• Departing Rodanthe at 6 a.m., 7:30, 9, 10:30, noon, 1:30 p.m., 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30.

Also, the Ferry Division is working to add several runs to its Pamlico Sound routes [to and from Ocracoke and Hatteras Islands] for the upcoming weekend only and will announce schedules later today.
