Video filmed on the Outer Banks wins Country Music Video of the Year

Brad Paisley’s “Waitin’ on a Woman” has been popular with locals and Hatteras Island lovers alike for its gorgeous scenes shot on an undeveloped stretch of shoreline along the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge on Hatteras Island.

Now, the popularity of the video keeps growing, as it has just been named the Academy of Country Music® Video of the Year in conjunction with the 44th Annual ACM Awards. The awards will air live on April 5, 2009 on CBS Television Network 8:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT. This makes two top awards for the celebrated video.

The video filmed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina won the Country Music Awards® Video of the Year in 2008. Part of the endearing charm was certainly Outer Banks resident and actor Andy Griffith’s performance and interaction with the country music superstar.

“Waitin’ on a Woman” features Brad Paisley sitting on a bench at the Tanger Outlet Center in Nags Head, NC having a candid, yet deeply moving conversation with Andy Griffith. The climactic scene features Griffith in the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area, just north of Rodanthe.

Fans of the country music genre the world over were introduced to the Outer Banks of North Carolina because of the wild popularity of Brad Paisley and “Waitin’ on a Woman.” All of us at Surf or Sound Realty wants to congratulate him, Jim Shea and the entire production crew on this highest of honors.
