Because of the anticipated effects of Hurricane Maria, Dare County issued a mandatory evacuation for visitors on Hatteras Island that became effective today at noon. We are sorry to see our guests leave the island and are very grateful for their help and cooperation today as they quickly packed their belongings and helped us secure our homes. We hope they may return soon.
