2011 Land of Beginnings Festival

The 2011 Land of Beginnings Festival is an annual celebration of Outer Banks and its community by preserving its past and promoting its future. The festival events cover interests for all ages and are located throughout Dare County:

Monday, April 4, Ramada Plaza Hotel Nags Head, 12pm- Community Luncheon: Presentation of the Living Legend Award to Suzanne Tate, the author of numerous educational children’s books in the Nature and History Series. Reservations Required. Cost is $25.

Tuesday, April 5, Black Pelican Restaurant Kitty Hawk, 7pm – Storytelling Session: Tales about “good ole days”. Free.

Wednesday, April 6, Dare Center in Manteo, 7pm – Storytelling Session: Tales about “good ole days”. Free. Old fashion pot luck dinner starting at 6pm.

Thursday, April 7, Fessenden Center in Buxton, 7pm – Storytelling Session: Tales about “good ole days”. Free.

Friday, April 8, Russell Twiford campus of the College of the Albemarle-Dare Campus, 9am – “Footprints in the Sand” – a presentation of the area’s historic sites. Free.

Saturday, April 9, Wright Brothers National Memorial Pavilion Kill Devil Hills, 7pm – The Lost Colony Fire and Ice Gala. Reservations Required. Cost is $100.
