Frisco Jubilee Performs Another Season of Great Music

The Frisco Jubilee is performing another season of great music at Little Grove Church in Frisco. The Jubilee plays every Friday at 7:30 pm at Little Grove through Labor Day. Little Grove Church is located at Mile Post 67 on Highway 12 in Frisco.

The Frisco Jubilee is an evening of musical entertainment for the whole family comprised of some of the best performers from Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands. Locals and tourists alike have discovered the rich musical heritage that exists on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. You can expect to hear some great music that ranges from standards and blues to bluegrass and gospel as well as original poetry from Johnny Baum.

The Frisco Jubilee features Nights in Rodanthe fiddler Herb “Speedy” Price, April Trueblood, Mahlon Blue, Clifford Swain, Caitlyn Gray, John Couch, Jaki Gray, Martin Garrish and friends will perform occasionally.

The Frisco Jubilee show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door for $10 per person.

Free NC Symphony Concert on the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks welcomes for the eighth year the North Carolina Symphony Summer Pops Concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo on June 19, 2009. Once again, this event is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with a pre-show program by the Concert Chorale of the Outer Banks at 7 p.m. The NC Symphony program begins at 8 p.m. Continue reading

Sea chanteys concert will be April 9 at Hatteras museum

The singer sometimes called “one of the strongest and finest tenor voices on the folk scene” is coming to the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras village.

Geoff Kaufman has performed nationally and internationally and is widely known for music of the sea. On Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m., he performs a free concert at the museum. Kaufman performs work songs traditional to the South, and port tunes from Irish sailors and black stevedores that were adaptations of each other’s music. Continue reading

North Carolina Symphony Outer Banks Summer Concert

The Dare County Tourism Board welcomes for the eighth year the North Carolina Symphony Summer Pops Concert to Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo on Friday, June 19, 2009. Once again, this event is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend. The performance is underwritten by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau at a cost of $28,000 and Roanoke Island Festival Park donates the venue. Continue reading
