"To market, to market…" Hatteras Island Farmer's Market is in full swing!

The Hatteras Island Farmer’s Market has returned for a 3rd season and we’re berry very happy about that!
Every Tues. in Avon (through August 28th), be sure to stop by from 9am until 1pm for fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as eggs and grass-fed beef produced locally in Eastern NC. There is also quite a spread of homemade baked goods, jams, and other delightful bites, so bring your reusable shopping bags and fill up!
Artisans will also be on site featuring their pottery, soaps, linens, and other housewares…
Here’s a taste of some of the local vendors you may see on Tues.:
Coastal Farmers-an array of seasonal fresh veggies
Sweater Box Confections-delectible homemade baked goods
Vicky Lowe-kitchen textiles and dinnerware
Moore Brothers Beef-grain-fed, all natural beef with no added hormones or antibiotics

Hatteras Island Farmer’s Market will be November 24th

If you’re spending Thanksgiving on Hatteras Island and want to bring a local touch to the table, then check out the Coastal Harvester’s first annual Farmer’s Market on Tuesday, November 24th, 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The event will be held at the Fesseden Center next to Dillon’s Corner in Buxton, rain or shine, and will feature an ocean of fresh veggies and fresh baked goods to make your island Thanksgiving a little something special. Continue reading

First Hatteras Island Farmers’ Market will be July 7

The non-profit Coastal Harvesters invites North Carolina farmers to participate in the Hatteras Island Farmers’ Market this summer.

“The market will offer high-quality produce and other goods grown in North Carolina,” said Joanne Throne, president of Coastal Harvesters.
