Outer Banks art shows scheduled this summer at Chicamacomico

The Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site & Museum will host a new series of art shows this summer, featuring artists from throughout the Outer Banks who will show and sell their works.

A number of original works in a multitude of art media will be featured, including acrylic, glass blowing, water colors, pottery, hand-made jewelry, hanging art, fish art, photography and still more formats. Continue reading

12th annual Powwow in Frisco will include living history events

Torpedo Junction – Shipwrecks of WWI and WWII Presentation to be held at Salvo Volunteer Fire Station

The National Park Service Outer Banks Group Know Your Park citizen science program series continues with a presentation from Joe Hoyt from the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary on Wednesday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salvo Volunteer Fire Station. Day at the Docks will be Saturday, September 19

Sea captains extend an invitation to all sailors and landlubbers to join them at the 3rd annual Day at the Docks on September 19, 2009. Attention Kids! Grab a kite and fly during Kids Kite Day in Hatteras Village!

Kitty Hawk Kites will be hosting a kite day for kids of all ages on July 23, 2009 at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Hatteras Landing, Hatteras Village. The event is free and open to visitors and locals alike, and the fun begins at 10:00 a.m., and lasts until 4:00 p.m..

The Hatteras Kids Kite Day offers a wide range of entertaining activities for everyone who attends. Kids and their families will enjoy free kite making throughout the event.
