6th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament Set for July 8-10

Did you know? The Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament started as a bet between Captains fishing offshore one day in 2005 in the prime of Marlin season off the Hatteras Coastline. Today, the tournament has become a successful Offshore Tournament that has tripled in size over the last 5 years.

The Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish tournament is not exclusive and welcomes everyone to participate regardless of fishing experience or boat style. The goal of the tournament is to highlight the excellent offshore billfish fishing in Hatteras during the summer season.

There are four levels that boats can enter. Level 1 is the Mandatory Billfish level for $300. Level II is the Additional Billfish level for $500. Level III is the Meat Fish level with $300 entry fee and Level IV is the Grand Slam Jackpot level for an additional $200. If a boat wants to fish all levels, the entry fee is $1300.

Thursday night is the tournament registration and Captain’s meeting. Official tournament fishing occurs Friday and Saturday with the tournament culminating in the Awards Night on Saturday evening.
