Wings over Water Wildlife Festival runs from Nov. 3-8

The 13th annual Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival, a celebration of wildlife and wild lands in Eastern North Carolina, will run from Tuesday, Nov. 3, until Sunday, Nov. 8. The six-day event celebrates the natural wonders of the Outer Banks and offers many opportunities to explore and discover the richness of the region’s environment. Continue reading

Day at the Docks will be Saturday, September 19

Sea captains extend an invitation to all sailors and landlubbers to join them at the 3rd annual Day at the Docks on September 19, 2009. Festivities will begin on the Hatteras village waterfront at 10:00 a.m. and run until 5:00 p.m., followed by a work boat parade and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. Continue reading

Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum offers free summer activities

Attention Kids! Grab a kite and fly during Kids Kite Day in Hatteras Village!

Kitty Hawk Kites will be hosting a kite day for kids of all ages on July 23, 2009 at the Kitty Hawk Kites store in Hatteras Landing, Hatteras Village. The event is free and open to visitors and locals alike, and the fun begins at 10:00 a.m., and lasts until 4:00 p.m..

The Hatteras Kids Kite Day offers a wide range of entertaining activities for everyone who attends. Kids and their families will enjoy free kite making throughout the event. Children can also color and decorate their own personal kite, and learn to fly it with the help of Kitty Hawk Kites’ professional staff. Continue reading
