Live Music and Beautiful Sunsets are Back With The Kona Summer Concert Series on Hatteras Island!

A fun and exciting thing to do while vacationing on Hatteras Island is to take in some live music. REAL Watersports is the perfect place to do so with their Kona Summer Concert Series. You can watch live music every week on the waterfront stage at Mojo’s Sunset Café, located at the REAL Flagship Store in Waves. With a family friendly atmosphere and gorgeous sunsets over the sound, it’s a perfect way to end the day. Stop by, grab a drink and some food from Mojo’s Sunset Café, and enjoy the music! All shows are free to check out, and start around 6pm. This Thursday, PJ Pacifico will be playing.

7 Parties and 7 Bands at REAL Kiteboarding’s Triple-S Event

REAL Kiteboarding is hosting its annual Triple-S Event this week, June 5th – 11th, a kiteboarding competition that includes some of the best kiteboarders from around the world.

Coinciding with the competition, the REAL Kiteboarding center in Waves is hosting a week of parties and live music to keep the Triple-S Celebration going. Continue reading

Arts Council will host live music, art and food event on Monday, May 3rd

The Dare County Arts Council (DCAC) invites Hatteras Island residents and visitors to a lively evening of light fare, live music, art, a gorgeous sunset, and neighborly cheer on Monday, May 3, from 6 – 8 p.m., at The Inn on Pamlico Sound on NC Highway 12 in Buxton.

Local artists will show their work, and local musicians The Summertime Blues Band (with special guest musicians joining in), will perform. A number of local restaurants, including The Inn on Pamlico Sound, Rusty’s Surf and Turf, Avon Cafe, Island Perks, Mac Daddy’s and Teach’s Island Bar and Grill, will be on site cooking up some delicious local fair for all attendees to enjoy. Valentine's Celebration with Live Music on Feb. 14th

This Valentine’s Day, brighten your Hatteras holiday spirit with an afternoon of live music. Indian Town Gallery in Frisco will be featuring a 7 piece band in the gallery from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, Feb 14th. Wahoo Hoo-Ha! Hatteras Tournament celebrates music and fishing

Page Skelton, creator of the original Cackalacky condiment brand and the Booze Bait fishing lure company, will be donating his unique products to the Music Maker Relief Foundation’s upcoming fishing tournament and fundraiser.

The fishing tournament and benefit, called the Wahoo Hoo-Ha!, will take place in Hatteras, NC on October 16th and 17th. The weekend event will culminate in an awards dinner on Saturday evening followed by a concert featuring Cool John Ferguson, Big Ron Hunter & Captain Luke at the Hatteras Community Center. Chili Cook-off will be September 19

Frisco Jubilee Performs Another Season of Great Music

The Frisco Jubilee is performing another season of great music at Little Grove Church in Frisco. The Jubilee plays every Friday at 7:30 pm at Little Grove through Labor Day. Little Grove Church is located at Mile Post 67 on Highway 12 in Frisco.

The Frisco Jubilee is an evening of musical entertainment for the whole family comprised of some of the best performers from Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands. Locals and tourists alike have discovered the rich musical heritage that exists on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. You can expect to hear some great music that ranges from standards and blues to bluegrass and gospel as well as original poetry from Johnny Baum.

The Frisco Jubilee features Nights in Rodanthe fiddler Herb “Speedy” Price, April Trueblood, Mahlon Blue, Clifford Swain, Caitlyn Gray, John Couch, Jaki Gray, Martin Garrish and friends will perform occasionally.

The Frisco Jubilee show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door for $10 per person.

More than one person has told us that this is the best $10 you can spend anywhere on Hatteras Island. Come for a great evening of pickin’and singin’ and a little poetry too. Call 252-995-3540 for more information.

Free NC Symphony Concert on the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks welcomes for the eighth year the North Carolina Symphony Summer Pops Concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo on June 19, 2009. Once again, this event is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with a pre-show program by the Concert Chorale of the Outer Banks at 7 p.m. The NC Symphony program begins at 8 p.m. Continue reading

Sea chanteys concert will be April 9 at Hatteras museum

The singer sometimes called “one of the strongest and finest tenor voices on the folk scene” is coming to the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras village.

Geoff Kaufman has performed nationally and internationally and is widely known for music of the sea. On Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m., he performs a free concert at the museum. Kaufman performs work songs traditional to the South, and port tunes from Irish sailors and black stevedores that were adaptations of each other’s music. Continue reading
