Taste of the Beach will be held March 11-14th

Get Ready for 4 Days of Food, Drink & Fun! The Outer Banks of North Carolina 2010 Taste of The Beach Weekend will be March 11-14.

The Outer Banks Restaurant Association (OBRA) has been hosting the Taste of The Beach for over 20 years. This grand food festival event on The Outer Banks of North Carolina will feature wine tastings, cooking classes, special menu presentations, celebrity guest chef appearances by Ed Brantley & Heba Salama from “The Biggest Loser”, brewery tours, tapas crawls and many more events with exciting array of creative combinations of culinary delights and fun activities on the Outer Banks. Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation annual dance will be March 20

The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation’s anticipated annual dance will be a tribute to the 10th anniversary of the foundation and its annual fundraiser.

Every year the Cancer Foundation dance has a new theme, from pirates to the roaring 20s, encouraging participants to dress up in costume and share in the fun. To mark this milestone, the theme of this year’s dance is “Toast to 10 Years of Sharing and Caring.” Continue reading

2nd Annual Seal Swim will be March 7

Summer is just around the corner, but cold tolerant locals and visitors have a chance to enjoy a dip in the ocean well before the temperatures heat up.

Local non-profit organization Locomotion, the Cape Hatteras Teen Association, will be hosting its Second Annual Seal Swim on Saturday, March 7, starting at 10 a.m. on the oceanfront behind the Outer Banks Motel on Highway 12 in Buxton. The fundraising event is open to everyone in the community, and both young people and adults can sign up to take the frigid dip in the ocean. Continue reading
