Lots of new places to eat on Hatteras Island for summer 2010

As summer heats up, seasoned visitors will have plenty of new places to try on their next Hatteras Island vacation, as a number of new restaurants have opened recently on the Outer Banks.

Taste of the Beach will be held March 11-14th

Get Ready for 4 Days of Food, Drink & Fun! The Outer Banks of North Carolina 2010 Taste of The Beach Weekend will be March 11-14.

The Outer Banks Restaurant Association (OBRA) has been hosting the Taste of The Beach for over 20 years. This grand food festival event on The Outer Banks of North Carolina will feature wine tastings, cooking classes, special menu presentations, celebrity guest chef appearances by Ed Brantley & Heba Salama from “The Biggest Loser”, brewery tours, tapas crawls and many more events with exciting array of creative combinations of culinary delights and fun activities on the Outer Banks. La Fogata is coming to Hatteras Island

Mexican food lovers, the wait is over.

After months if not years of speculation and rumors, it has been confirmed that La Fogata, the popular authentic Mexican restaurant with two locations in the Northern Outer Banks, will be coming to Hatteras Island.

Tony Fernandez , one of the 5 partners, says the plan to open a Hatteras Island location for a long time, due mainly to repeat local patron requests. “We have many customers who live south and they say it’s hard to drive all the way here, so we thought it would be nice to open a restaurant there too, and save them a trip.” Continue reading
