Arts Council will host live music, art and food event on Monday, May 3rd

The Dare County Arts Council (DCAC) invites Hatteras Island residents and visitors to a lively evening of light fare, live music, art, a gorgeous sunset, and neighborly cheer on Monday, May 3, from 6 – 8 p.m., at The Inn on Pamlico Sound on NC Highway 12 in Buxton.

Local artists will show their work, and local musicians The Summertime Blues Band (with special guest musicians joining in), will perform. A number of local restaurants, including The Inn on Pamlico Sound, Rusty’s Surf and Turf, Avon Cafe, Island Perks, Mac Daddy’s and Teach’s Island Bar and Grill, will be on site cooking up some delicious local fair for all attendees to enjoy. 12th annual Powwow in Frisco will include living history events

The nature trail at the Frisco Native American Museum & Natural History Center will once again echo with the haunting music of drums when the 12th annual Inter-Tribal Powwow, Journey Home, takes place on Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25. the event is a weekend of music, dancing, storytelling, demonstrations, crafts, native food, and much more. Save the date for annual spring dance

The ninth annual Spring Dance, sponsored by the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation (HICF) will be on Saturday, March 21 at the Hatteras Village Civic Center. Tickets will be available in advance and all proceeds go to HICF to help support those in the community faced with the many challenges of cancer.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dance ends at midnight. There will be a full buffet, beer, wine, soda, and the civic center will be decorated in style. Music this year will be by the 360 Degree Band. Continue reading
